Noori's
Located in the heart of Brighton, Noori’s is a traditional Indian restaurant with a contemporary twist and a big hit with local curry connoisseurs. The dining room itself is bright and airy with low-key décor and comfortable seating that creates a relaxed setting for lunch or dinner. The knowledgeable staff will happily mix you a cocktail or two before dinner, and there are fine wines and beers like Kingfisher and Cobra on offer too. If you like to stick to familiar favourites, Noori’s tandoori king prawns and chicken tikka masala are the best in town. For something a little different, try their signature Cochin chicken - a mild but flavoursome dish with pepper, coriander, mint and coconut cream.

The Viceroy of India
Directly off the main road along the Brighton seafront, Preston Street is dominated by restaurants. When in the mood for a traditional Indian, locals step into the smart yet informal Viceroy of India where traditional red carpets, dark velvet banquette seating and hand-printed scenes of ancient Calcutta life are matched with modern white linen-dressed tables and dark wood chairs. An extensive menu lists several korai, tandoori balti and masala specialties. On week days there's a calm atmosphere when the contented murmur rarely rises above the ethnic background music. Nights bring bit more of a buzz. Diners are a mixture of couples, families and business people. Sit at a window table, if possible.
